According to a survey performed by the US Apple Association, the total number of apples in storage on April 1, 2022, was 75.5 million bushels, 1.1 percent more than last April’s total of 74.7 million bushels and 1.5 percent below the 5-year average for that date.
Fresh apple holdings this April totaled 53.3 million bushels--4 percent more than the inventories reported for last April. Processing holdings totaled 22.2 million bushels, 5.2 percent less than last year on April 1.
