The Brazilian Government, through the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), has announced investments of R$ 40 million for the development of technological solutions in the agricultural sector. There are four technological orders contracted by the MCTI, through the Financier of Studies and Projects (FINEP), linked to the Ministry, with resources from the National Fund for Technological Development (FNDCT), with a total value of approximately R$ 40 million. The projects will be developed by universities and specialized research centers.
The president of the Financier of Studies and Projects (FINEP/MCTI), Waldemar Barroso, projected what can be expected for the future. “We have seen the strength of Brazilian agribusiness and all this is only possible thanks to investments in science, technology and innovation. When we look to the future, we will see several innovations in our agribusiness that will originate from these various federal government initiatives through the MCTI with the operational participation of FINEP,” he stated.
