TomaTech-Nirit Attending Fruit Logistica on 5-7 April in Berlin

Top tomato collections, new varieties, and new developments

It has been an exciting year for TomaTech-Nirit. After the launch of several ToBRFV (IR) resistant commercial varieties, TomaTech-Nirit announced its greater global presence following the merger of the two seeds companies, in January 2022.

Now the newly merged company is bringing it all to Fruit Logistica on 5-7 April in Berlin. For TomaTech-Nirit, this year's exhibition marks two extraordinary firsts: the first exhibit of the merged company, and the first opportunity to meet face to face after the pandemic. The largest global exhibition of fresh produce is the perfect platform to showcase the new company's developments and experts. A truly momentous occasion!

Located in stand C-16 in hall 1.2, this year the company brings to the exhibition its top tomato collections, new varieties, and new developments. The company's representatives from Israel, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands are anxious to meet face to face again with visitors. TomaTech-Nirit are hard at work scheduling meetings with both existing and potential customers and prospects.

"We are very excited to bring to Fruit Logistica the integration of our excellent and experienced teams," says Ofer Ben Zvi, CEO. "Always at the forefront of the seed industry, with a focus on tomatoes, we want to showcase the innovations and solutions we bring to growers globally."

One of the company's latest developments that will be introduced at Fruit Logistica is ToBRFV-resistant (IR) varieties. TomaTech-Nirit has developed a controlled virus inoculation system that allows characterizing and cataloguing material according to the level of resistance of each line and source. Once the sources of resistance were identified, the company has successfully mapped genetic markers and developed a breeding process that effectively introduces the resistance source to its germplasm.

"This was definitely an extraordinary breakthrough for us," says Ofer ben Zvi, "which we have already introduced into our breeding program. But our achievements are far more encompassing, and, thanks to the merger, we are now able to operate at a broader geographical reach."

The future looks bright for TomaTech-Nirit. The company now provides optimal responses to increased global demand while developing new and better varieties and seeds that take advantage of the most advanced molecular technology to yield better and more healthy produce.
