Elephant, the new closing machine for cardboard trays with flaps from REV, is fast, flexible and keeps working uninterrupted. REV, an Italian company that has been specializing in fruit and vegetable packaging solutions for more than thirty years, will exhibit Elephant at Fruit Logistica in Hall 9, Booth A-04.

"Our company has focused on sustainable packaging for years and with Elephant we have reached a new milestone. As the retail sector is constantly evolving, we also wanted to design a machine that met the requirements of both packagers and retailers. This machine seals durable packaging from mono-material and is very flexible. It can close trays in different sizes and for different products, at a speed that is unique in the market," said Fabrizio Fiumama, director of REV.
Elephant is an automatic machine for closing cardboard trays and boxes with side flaps, by using hot glue. It produces 100% recyclable single-material packaging. "If on the one hand versatility is one of the advantages that characterizes this machine, on the other hand its ease of use and rapidity in setting up format changes (less than 2 minutes) makes it one of a kind".
Elephant is for every product that can be packed in trays, even the most delicate fruit. The machine can close wrap-trays, where the flaps hold the above-edge products nicely in place, as well as flat-trays, where the product is below the edge of the package and the flaps form a flattened seal. The trays can be printed as desired to increase visibility on the shelf.
"The machine is the fastest on the market. Depending on the size of the packages to be processed, it can process between 120 and 340 trays per minute, which makes it particularly suitable for lines with high productivity. Production continuity is also guaranteed. The machine never stops," concluded Fiumana.
