Iran continues to supply agricultural products to Astrakhan. Recently, another train arrived at Kutum station, which brought 600 tons of early potatoes for further shipment to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara and Volgograd. Part of the production will remain for Astrakhan consumers. A few days earlier, another train with fruits and vegetables from Iran was unloaded at Kutum.
In the first half of the year, about 50,000 tons of vegetables and fruits from the countries of the Caspian region, as well as from Pakistan and India, should be transported through Astrakhan. Regional authorities are convinced that in the current geopolitical situation, the North-South international transport corridor has every chance for accelerated development due to the increased demand for its capacities.
