The Angolan Regulatory Agency for Cargo Certification and Logistics (ARCCLA) and Dutch consortium Flying Swans will develop projects in the logistics sector, including cold chain infrastructures to promote the export of fruit.
According to a statement from the Transport Ministry, the two parties signed a memorandum of cooperation to increase the development of a National Logistics Strategy, which includes implementation of a pilot project to demonstrate the importance of cold or controlled temperature logistics infrastructures for export purposes.
The statement noted Angola’s “enormous potential,” for fruit production, particularly avocados, mangoes and citrus fruits, although exports are limited due to various logistical constraints.
