New packaging for apple brand’s retail outlet partners

Yes! Apples, a fresh, consumer-first apple brand, is launching innovative new packaging for its retail outlet partners. The company’s new plastic bags are now made with up to five percent less plastic, while its new cardboard boxes are fully recyclable.

Yes! Apples New York-grown apples are available in a variety of retail outlets, including Market Basket, Walmart, H-E-B, Sprouts, and more. The boxes carried by Costco support the company’s partnership with 1% for the Planet. This fall, Yes! Apples will launch updated paper totes made from recyclable and compostable paper, further reducing reliance on plastic packaging.

“The choices we make factor into the choices consumers make. We know this matters to our customers, so it’s a priority for us,” said Tenley Fitzgerald, vice-president of marketing, Yes! Apples. “Yes! Apples sources packaging materials from manufacturers that have adopted sustainable practices and is a member of How2Recycle, a standardized labeling system that clearly communicates recycling instructions to the public.”

Yes! Apples new cardboard boxes are fully recyclable. 

Often, paper bags and cardboard boxes can be recycled curbside. Plastic bags can be dropped off at the nearest soft plastic recycling location, usually at grocery stores.

Yes! Apples is also a member of the United Fresh Produce Association Sustainability Task Force. Read more about the company’s sustainability efforts here.
