SIVAL 2022: first impressions

SIVAL 2022 was originally scheduled for mid-January but the International Plant Production Techniques Exhibition, the only trade fair in France to offer a complete range of equipment and services for specialized plant production, was postponed to March 15th to 17th due to the Covid-19 crisis.

Yesterday marked the launch of this 2022 edition. The event was highly anticipated since the 2021 edition had been canceled. However, some questions do arise regarding the consequences of this change of dates. “The first morning was very calm and we fear that this edition might not attract a lot of visitors because the exhibition was postponed,” explains a participant in the Ardesia Hall. It is true that some exhibitors fear that the producers need to be in the fields in March and therefore will not have the time to come to the fair.

In Hall D however, where most of the professionals of the fresh fruit and vegetable sector are gathered, the first impressions are quite different. Some participants are satisfied with this first morning. Apparently, the visitors arrived suddenly and the attendance was quite good, even if it is likely to be lower than in 2020.
