The Agriculture Ministry and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have started the Cambodian Horticultural project and the Cambodian Fruit and Vegetable project to expand the organic market for the nation’s farmers.
It sets out the principles of strengthening the community to collect safe vegetables, called organic vegetables, by farmers who use the cultivation techniques to encourage other farmers to change their cultivation habits.
Ministry secretary of state Touch Bun Hour said yesterday in a meeting with farmers: “This is a mechanism to support local vegetable produce and give them incentive to grow in order to increase their family income.”
