According to producers and advisors from the Ceickor University Center (Mexico), the plantations that use the professional drainage systems of Hydroponic Systems have been able to increase their production by 3% to 5% as well as the quality of their crops.
"There is an increase in production because the plants yield more and a greater quality if they have healthy and vigorous roots," stated Alejandro Tarrats, the Head Grower of Ceickor, an entity that has research and development agreements with the Hydroponic Systems company.
According to Ceickor's adviser, the crops that use the systems of this Spanish company increase their production because the system greatly decreases the plants lost throughout the cycle due to root diseases, as they improve their aeration and oxygenation. “It is complementary to good nutritional management of the crop,” he added.
In addition, he said, it significantly decreases costs, as producers can almost completely avoid carrying out treatments against diseases of this type. "At Ceickor, there are crop lines with Hydroponic Systems equipment that have not needed any treatment or fumigation of the roots to attack diseases," Tarrats stated.
A revolutionary product
What do Hydroponic Systems drainage collection systems have to increase production? Hydroponic Systems have a Spacer, a common element to all systems, both for ground and elevated systems, which helps crops to be healthier. “This is an ingenious element that, combined in a drainage system, makes it very difficult for the annoying and traditional diseases that affect the roots of hydroponic crops in a substrate to appear. It does so by keeping the crops isolated from moisture and in the right position that is suitable for optimal aeration and oxygenation. It also prevents the roots from suffering from temperature changes that they inevitably acquire when in contact with the metal channels that lead the drains.
