Shallots: Interfel renews its interprofessional agreement

Interfel, the fresh fruit and vegetable interprofession, has announced the renewal of its interprofessional agreement on shallots from the 1st of January 2022, thus guaranteeing consumers the quality and excellence of this product with such distinct flavors.

This interprofessional agreement on shallots reflects the commitment of the entire fresh fruit and vegetable sector and reaffirms its desire to propose a quality product.

As before, the shallots that are bigger than 55mm cannot be sold on the fresh market, neither in France nor abroad.

For the fresh fruit and vegetable sector, the objective of this new agreement is to continue in its effort to highlight the quality of this unique product made in France, while avoiding the confusion with other visually related products such as shallots or onions.

Signed on May 26th 2021, the agreement came into effect on January 1st for 3 years, from 2022 to 2024, and extends over the same period by interministerial order published in the Journal Officiel de la République.

Interprofessional agreement available here.
