According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrey Razin, the acreages intended for vegetables and potatoes will be increased in Russia this year. The state provides a set of support measures aimed at both increasing production capacity and developing commodity distribution infrastructure and increasing storage capacity.
The issues of expanding the sowing and planting areas were considered as a basis for obtaining the required volume of products. Thus, according to forecasts, open ground vegetables in 2022 will be sown on 196,600 hectares (+ 7,9%), and potatoes will be planted on 298,700 hectares (+ 6,7%). The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia plans to increase support for these areas.
