While many trade shows were either cancelled or postponed in the last weeks and months, Polish fruit tree fair TSW took place as planned on January 12 and 13 in the Warsaw Exhibition Center. We spoke to some German exhibitors about their impressions and the feedback from trade visitors on site.
'Personal contact irreplaceable'
The Voen Vöhringer company is an international market leader in protective solutions for fruit growing; they have been exhibitors at TSW from the very beginning. "Despite Corona, many trade visitors are present at the trade fair in Warsaw," Rainer Weiss told FreshPlaza.de. "You can see that people are looking for some experiences, meet people live. In my opinion, personal contact can in no way be replaced by video calls."
Weiss said TSW showed that face-to-face events can happen even in times of rising incidence rates and lockdowns. "If all people play by the rules, it can work. That's why it's such a shame that the majority of German trade shows are being canceled."

Lively interest
Livio Dalvit, owner of the eponymous agency and driving force behind the new, ecological packaging brand Elledi-Pack, was also very satisfied at the end of the first day of the fair. "Overall, the mood on site is quite good. A lot of visitors have come to Warsaw and the interest for the fair and our first-time presence is obviously there. It has already been worthwhile so far and I am glad we decided to participate."
