There have been 23 health alerts for Turkish grapefruit shipments exceeding the MRLs in this campaign

The European Commission has updated the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed's data on the 23 health alerts for Turkish grapefruit that have been rejected for exceeding the maximum residue limits since the start of the current 2021-2022 campaign.

The Turkish grapefruits were rejected after authorities detected residues of chlorpyrifos, chlorpyrifos-methyl, buprofezin, and fenbutatin oxide, which are substances that can't be used in the EU, in concentrations that exceeded the MRL (maximum residue limit) established by community regulations by up to 16 times.
