Yesterday, 3 January 2022, Willem Dijk AGF received the first truck of Tang Gold from Filosofo, exclusively for the Benelux, just like last season. "Tang Gold was introduced by Eurosemillas in 2014 for Europe (Spain). This company with a branch in Cordoba obtained this citrus from California (University of California). There it quickly became a benchmark protected late variety with growing areas in South America and even South Africa," says Ronnie Moorman.
"At Aranda (Filosofo) in Piles (Valencia), the Tang Gold variety is grown and with a 'Premium' selection, these mandarins are packed exclusively under Filosofo. The rest is marketed under different labels. Premium is high quality, specially selected on shape, colour, brix (14') and juice content of no less than +50%".
