In Marathwada, farmers are getting ginger seeds for Rs 4,000 per 100 kgs, while ginger has a market price of Rs 700 per 100 kgs. Therefore, even if farmers survive the most adverse circumstances, they will face many problems till the sale of agricultural produce.
There is a huge demand for ginger in the markets every year. But, this year, due to the decline in demand, prices are showing a sharp fall. New farmers have started cultivation of ginger in Bharadi, Dhanora, Vanjola, Mandgaon, Didgaon areas of the Aurangabad district. But declining rates have also made it difficult to meet the cost of ginger, and farming.
