Ready for a "world tour" of the various types of dried fruit?

"Christmas is upon us and Mocerino Frutta Secca has already thought about presents! A precious box set of dried fruit is among the most popular products. The concept is inspired by the Christian tradition that sees trees and musk decorating our homes and, why not? by the folk tradition of the luck brought about by the Elves. We chose pine green for our Christmas box set, paired with classic gold for our brand," explains Carmela Ragosta, quality control manager at Mocerino Frutta Secca.

The flavorful box set contains an assortment of typical seasonal products - dates, plums and chestnuts - as well as local products such as Partenope walnuts, Camponica avellinese hazelnuts (an early variety) and Mortarella dell'Irpinia hazelnuts, which boast sub-cylindrical, medium-small fruits.

Hazelnut groves have been covering vast areas of Campania (Italy) since ancient times. This year, there has been a drop in the production of hazelnuts due to the unstable weather, characterized by late spring frost and summer drought.

"For those with a sweet tooth, we have come up with a selection of fruits - dates, figs, ginger and sour cherries - covered in dark chocolate certified by the Rainforest Alliance. It is a program to support sustainable agriculture with former UTZ-certified quality standards applicable to all those organizations operating in the cocoa chain, as well as in the tea and coffee chains. Our chocolate, therefore, favors agricultural and environmental sustainability but, most of all, it safeguards the social rights of workers, especially in those underdeveloped countries where these raw materials mainly come from."

The Mocerino product range therefore aims not only at supplying high-quality products but also at tackling important ethical challenges in favor of consumers who are increasingly concerned about social and environmental issues and who are therefore willing to pay more to purchase eco-friendly products.

"Christmas is above all a children's holiday, this is why we have put a sweet surprise in our box set - caramelized pop corn, also with cocoa, plus peanuts, almonds, cashew nuts and pistachio praline. Those curious about the Campania culture and traditions or, more simply, the most demanding clients can go on a 'trip around the world' thanks to a selection of 8 products in an octagonal box."

The curiosity in searching new gourmet flavors and the experimentation of the past few years have made nuts the undisputed protagonist of healthy and tasty dishes. "Il Giro del mondo dei sapori" (The Journey around the world of flavors) is the world of inclusion, where diversity is a value, starting from the food. There are the famous Israeli Medjoul dates, the lesser-known Macadamia nuts from South Africa, dried figs from Greece as well as dehydrated fruits such as pineapples and apricots, plus classic nuts such as cashew nuts, almonds and almonds. It cannot get more Christmassy than this. Mocernio could not think of anything better to spoil consumers!
