Potato Board has elected a new executive. In a Nov. 19 news release, the board announced John Visser, the board’s former table stock director for the last three years, as its new chair.
Visser and his family operate Victoria Potato Farm Inc. He represented the board's central district as vice-chair in 2020-21.
Seed sector representative Billy Cameron of Hampton is the board's new vice-chair. Chad Robertson, representing the table stock sector of Kingsboro, will serve as secretary-treasurer. Robertson farms with Marvyn’s Gardens Inc.
New board member Guy Cudmore of Preston Cudmore and Sons Inc. will represent the seed sector for the eastern district.
The remaining directors include Mark MacMillan, processing, eastern; Mary Gillis, seed, western; Jason Hayden, table stock, eastern; Becky Townshend, processing, at large; Donald Stavert, seed, central; Craig Wallace, processing, western; John Griffin, table stock, western; and Rob Green, processing, central.
The board also recognized retiring member and former chair Wayne Townsend for his service over the past years.
