Great atmosphere at the expoSE

"Green asparagus and tunnel cultivation are trending"

As 2020 was almost devoid of trade shows and events, exhibitors at this year's expoSE and expoDirekt were clearly looking forward to the resurgence of the current industry activity and trade show atmosphere. Nearly 370 businesses and companies from 12 nations were on hand to meet again and showcase both their latest and tried-and-tested products. Simon Schumacher, Managing Director of VSSE and co-organizer of expoSE, was very satisfied: "Many companies understand the 2G regulation and know about the advantages of trade fairs like expoSE. The people and the companies on site really want to be here and interact with each other."

Green asparagus and tunnel farming trending
What is already apparent is that more and more growers are recognizing the potential of green asparagus for themselves and are trying to further boost the appreciation of green asparagus with new varieties. At the same time, the share of tunnel cultivation in the soft fruit sector has also increased. In both the asparagus and berry sectors, there is also a focus on heat-resistant varieties that can grow and thrive at higher temperatures.

The quality of the talks also seems to be quite high, although the internationality and high visitor numbers that existed before Covid were missing.
