International potato fair Interpom continues with strengthened health protocol

The international potato fair Interpom, scheduled from November 28 to 30 in Kortrijk Xpo, will continue. The tightened Covid approach that the government announced yesterday allows this. Kortrijk Xpo provides a strengthened health protocol to organize the event as safely as possible.

Christophe Vermeulen, CEO Belgapom: “Of course Belgapom, and by extension the entire potato sector, is very much relieved we can go on and organize the fair. These covid times have been very difficult and challenging, for us as well, and we are very much looking forward to the event. At the same time, we are also fully aware of the responsibility we have towards exhibitors and guests. That is why Kortrijk Xpo has developed a reinforced health protocol. A safe environment is of the utmost importance to us. That is why we have decided to cancel the Belgapom party on Saturday evening. In view of the current situation, the tightened measures and out of respect for our members and invited guests, we believe this is the only logical choice. For us, the fair comes first and we will focus all our energies on that! ”

Interpom will take place on Sunday 28, Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 November from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. There are almost 400 exhibitors from 15 different countries and we expect 20,000 visitors.

They will have to be vaccinated against COVID, be checked (QR-code) and everybody had to prove their identity. A mouth mask is mandatory at the fair. CO2 meters, ventilation and disinfection can be provided everywhere. There are large drink and food stalls where the Belgian rules for bars and restaurants are in effect.
