Many strawberry production areas in China suffered from frost and frequent rainfall this year. Dandong, one of the main strawberry production areas in China, was no exception. Fortunately, the weather conditions did not have a significant impact on the growth of strawberries in Dandong. This year the overall production volume increased by more than 15% compared to last year.

"The strawberries from our plantation will start arriving on the Chinese market between the 20th and 25th of November. We expect our supply season to last until the end of May next year. We take advantage of the unique geographical conditions in Dandong, as well as the great differences in temperature, to grow top-quality strawberries. The product quality is excellent and the sugar content is over 18%. The average weight of our strawberries is more than 25 grams. Compared to previous years, the strawberries will enter the Chinese market ten days late and the price declined by 10%-20%." Strawberry greenhouse
The cooperative greenhouse farms under the umbrella of Dandong Rishenglin Ecological Agriculture Development cover an area of more than 13 hectares. The 56 greenhouses primarily produce the unique Dandong 'young beauty' strawberry (41 greenhouses), white strawberries (8 greenhouses), and pink strawberries (7 greenhouses).

The company implemented a supply chain management method that combines "plantation + processing". Their strawberries are sold as fresh fruit under their own brand 'Rijiumixiang'. In addition, the processing factory has an annual output of around 1,500 tons that is primarily destined for restaurants and beverage shops.

Ms. Yu Wenxin continued, "we have diversified our retail channels to include online and offline sales methods. Our online sales account for about 40%. The 'Rijiumixiang' brand strawberries are completely sold online this year, and destination markets include supermarkets and wholesale markets in the Dandong area and in first- and second-tier cities throughout the country. As for the packaging of our strawberries, we sell strawberries in premium packaging online as well as gift boxes of strawberries in wholesale markets."
