Bagioni Technology

Harvest and yields always under control with technology 4.0

In Italy, agriculture 4.0 has been pushed by state incentives while, abroad, it is considered more for what it is, i.e. a business improvement. When it comes to asparagus harvesters, Bagioni Technology was one of the first to equip its solutions with control units connected to a company server or smartphone.

"Thanks to a control unit that automatically detects around fifty parameters, new green asparagus harvesters can be controlled remotely anywhere in the world. One of the most interesting aspects is the possibility of remotely exchanging information with the machine - kg of asparagus harvested, daily route, working hours."

Detail of the control unit

For example, harvested asparagus are instantly memorized by the software so whoever is managing harvesting operations knows how much produce is available without having to wait for it to reach the packaging center and be weighed.

There are multiple applications - for example, real-time geolocalization of the machine means safety against theft and the removal of batteries. By setting a delimited area that can be viewed on Google Maps, an alarm triggers and blocks the machine whenever it exits the virtual area.

"What is more, settings can be changed remotely and it is possible to receive information on defects, power, absorption, motor temperature and improper use. Last but not least, it is possible to check the condition of batteries and charges and to monitor the conditions of the soil as well as working conditions by analyzing electric currents."
