Lao People's Democratic Republic records trade surplus of US$117 million in September

According to the latest information from the Lao Trade Portal website, Laos recorded a trade surplus of about US$117 million in September. The official data showed a total trade value of US$777 million consisting of exported goods worth US$447 million and imports worth US$330 million. The report said major exports included, banana, watermelon, passion fruit and tamarind.

China remained the top export destination for Laos, followed by Vietnam and Thailand, while the major source countries for Laos' imports were Thailand, China and Vietnam, according to the trade report.
