Important step for the development of regenerative agriculture in the Costa Rican banana sector

The companies Disagro, Bayer and Biome Makers met recently in San Jose, Costa Rica, together with important players in the production and marketing of bananas in Latin America, in order to integrate proposals that could lead to the implementation of agronomic measures to ensure a more sustainable and regenerative agriculture.

Disagro has already worked on integrated solutions that are allowing the banana sector to achieve a more sustainable and efficient production. Consumer, value chain and environmental demands are increasingly challenging, and responding to these demands requires a collaborative environment to integrate holistic solutions by integrating innovative technologies and products. The collaboration with Biome Makers is an important step towards achieving these sustainability goals in banana farming.

Biome Makers is a company committed to the recovery of microbial biodiversity in agriculture, leader in agricultural soil microbiome analysis with cutting-edge genetic sequencing technology, which makes it possible to determine the health and interactions of soil microorganisms.

Important players of the banana industry have also joined the initiative, marking together a milestone to preserve the health of the soil, reduce the chemical load, and, above all, improve the sustainability and future of banana cultivation in the region.
