Fruit prices up 58%

Serbian prices of agricultural produce goes up 24% in one year

According to data from the State Statistical Office, prices of agricultural produce grown in Serbia increased by almost a quarter in one year, or 24%. The price of fruit has gone up the most, by 58.5%.

“Consumer prices in September 2021, compared to the same month last year, increased by 5.7%, while compared to December 2020 they increased on average by 5.4%,” the State Statistical Office said. The prices of personal consumption goods and services in September 2021, compared to August 2021, increased on average by 0.8%.

Compared to one year ago, the increases are significant: in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group, the biggest price increase in September this year compared to September last year was vegetables, coming in at 29%.
