Turkey’s pomegranate season has begun, with one exporter starting harvest for the Wonderful pomegranates next week. Demand seems solid, while production in Turkey is slightly lower due to the weather conditions in the country.
The harvest for Turkish Wonderful pomegranates will start in about a week, says Alanar marketing Coordinator Yigit Gokyigit: “Our pomegranate season will start next week, which is when we will begin the harvest of Alanar’s own orchards. We’re harvesting the Wonderful variety of pomegranates from our orchards. These orchards are located in the Manisa and Antalya regions.”
Gokyigit states that the production of pomegranates will be slightly lower this year. “We see a very good demand from our retained customers that we have worked with for years. Next to that, importers from newer markets in Eastern Europe and the Middle East are also interested in the Alanar pomegranates. The production volume will be lower this year compared to the average of previous years, as the weather impacted the cultivation.”
“Alanar has business partners around the world when it comes to the pomegranate trade. We export our Turkish pomegranates to leading supermarket chains around the world, such as the ones in Germany, Sweden, Canada and Singapore. We provide a wide range of size options based on customer’s demand. We offer 250 grams to 1 kg pomegranates grown in our own orchards.” Gokyigit concludes.
