Belgian Migo pear season starts at BelOrta:

"Good quality and a little larger"

This week, Belgian Migo pears became widely available at BelOrta again. "Given the circumstances, we've had a good harvest with good quality pears," states Laurent De Smedt, the Top Fruit Division Head.

"The less than ideal spring weather has resulted in a reduced crop. The Migo pears will, however, be slightly larger than last year," Laurent concludes.

Migo, the friendly pear
Migo was introduced in 2016, after no less than eight years of research. It is a Conference/Doyenné d'Hiver hybrid. This club pear can be eaten anytime, anywhere, even on the go. With a firm bite, it tastes sweet and refreshing. And you can eat it without making a mess. In short: Migo, the friendly pear.
