"From 1 January 2021 all goods containing products of animal origin from The United Kingdom have to make a mandatory stop at a veterinary Checkpoint - also called Border Control Point (BCP) - before the goods can be released for free circulation in the EU. Since there were no inspection points at the Northern bank of the Port of Rotterdam, Americold (FKA Agro Merchants) created a special Border Control Point at our Westland facility (‘s-Gravenzande) to be the only veterinary inspection point for all goods of animal origin arriving by ferry on the North bank of Rotterdam (Hoek van Holland & Vlaardingen). We opened 13th September 2021."
