As temperatures drop, consumers are returning to vegetables, and fennel is one of them. With autumn approaching, Caligari&Babbi (owner of the Finò brand) is offering a new organic fennel.

We now also have organic fennel available that completes our range offered to our customers. Our new warehouse is certified for selling organic products and we collaborate with a couple of specialized companies in Puglia, explained Marco Babbi.
Given the current market slowdown, which has been dragging on since the end of November 2020, the hope is that the upcoming autumn season will also mark a recovery in consumption and sales.
"In these months of a rather lacklustre market, planning with customers has been fundamental to maintaining a minimum of profitability. Those who improvise nowadays do not have much of a future. We have specialized in the product for many years now, and the Finò brand is known at a European scale, so much so that we can count on a loyal clientele," added Babbi.

At the moment, companies are having to jump through hoops to make ends meet. "The increase in raw material costs, both in the field and in the warehouse, is hitting the supply chain. Plastics, paper and wood have seen significant increases of up to 50-60%. And for the next few weeks there is the looming threat of rising costs of the energy sector. I believe that we need to seriously discuss this issue if we want to guarantee the existence of the Italian production sector."
