The Board of Scales Corporation Limited wishes to advise that Mr Tomakin Lai has resigned from his position as a director.
Mr Lai’s resignation, effective from 13 September 2021, is due to a change in responsibilities within the China Resources Enterprise, Limited group. The Board wishes to acknowledge both Mr Lai’s contribution during his tenure, and the ongoing support of China Resources.
Appointment of Sun Qiang
The Board of Scales Corporation Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Sun Qiang (Alex), as a non-executive director of the company. Mr Sun’s appointment is effective from 13 September 2021.
Mr Sun is a Senior Director of the Asset Management Department of China Resources Enterprise, Ltd whose subsidiary, China Resources Ng Fung Limited, hold a 15.1% shareholding in Scales.
Mr Sun’s previous roles include:
- Senior Vice-President in the China Resources-Verlinvest JV, which is a shareholder of Nasdaq-listed Oatly Group AB;
- Director of Oatly Group AB;
- Deputy Business Director of Strategy for China Resources Strategy Management Department, with responsibility for consumer goods and retail sector strategy development.
In accordance with Scales’ constitution, Mr Sun will retire from office at the next Scales Annual Shareholders’ Meeting and will be eligible for election at that meeting.
Additionally, in accordance with Listing Rule 2.6.1 the Board have determined that Mr Sun is a non-independent director of Scales
