Swiss mushroom production increased significantly in the first six months of the year, new figures from the Swiss Mushroom Producers Association (VSP) show.
Domestic production of mushrooms rose 11 percent to 4,313,750 kilos in the first half of 2021, according to the VSP. The production of fine mushrooms increased by 18 percent to 233,463 kilos. The development was not affected by the partly closed gastronomy. According to the association, apparently consumers prepared the mushrooms at home instead.
