The Consortium is attending the Rimini event

The Pachino Tomato PGI sector is ready to restart

The Consortium for the Protection of Pachino Tomato PGI will be attending Macfrut 2021. The Sicilian consortium, ever committed to the improvement of the already high quality standards of PGI tomatoes, could not miss this major event that is finally taking place in person.

Massimo Pavan, Maria Impera

Massimo Pavan and Maria Impera will be presenting to the visitors a product and an exceptional territory, unique in the world. The consortium's exhibition stand (pavilion B5D5, number 5) is part of the Collettivo Sicilia.

"We feel very excited about reconnecting in person. Rimini is a great place to be, we are meeting operators in the sector with whom we hope to establish partnerships. It is a pleasure to consolidate relationships with already existing contacts. The number of visitors to our stand is good and confirms that the Pachino tomato PGI is now a well-recognized product on national and international markets. There is interest and desire to restart and go back to normality, even if here we are all wearing masks and maintaining the necessary and right precautions," said the vice-president of the consortium Pavan.

A detail of the stand

"The Consortium for the Protection of Pachino Tomato PGI is once again present at Macfrut, which is the first live event after many digital months. However, after so many preparations, I regret not being able to go to Rimini, due to other commitments that prevented me from doing so," said the president Sebastiano Fortunato, who remained in Sicily because of a last-minute impediment.

"It is among the main tasks of the consortium to strengthen the identity of our product which is unique for its organoleptic, nutritional and healthy characteristics and to tell its story. The Pachino Tomato PGI is known throughout the world, thanks to the unique territory as well as the battle against counterfeiting; these were the reasons behind our participation in the fruit and vegetable fair, the first we are attending again since the beginning of the Covid-19 emergency."

"Therefore, we could not miss the chance to take part in Macfrut 2021. It is always an invaluable opportunity for us to reach new markets and new targets and to intercept potential opportunities within the whole fruit and vegetable supply chain. A special mention goes to the entire Board of Directors, who supported this initiative, focusing once again on the promotion and protection of our brand. For this edition of Macfrut we have unfortunately noticed the absence of the Sicilian Region," concluded President Fortunato.
