Peruvian air exports of fresh or refrigerated asparagus in the first half of the year decreased by 20.4% over the same period of the previous year, totaling 15,421 tons, according to data from the Peruvian Foreign Trade Society (Comex Peru).
According to the entity, this volume accounted for 37.72% of all Peruvian air exports (40,882 tons), positioning asparagus as the main product exported by this modality.
In June of 2021, the country shipped 3,564 tons of fresh or refrigerated asparagus by air, i.e. 7.4% less than in the same month of the previous year.
In this month, fresh or refrigerated asparagus exports accounted for 52.87% of the 6,740 tons Peru exported by air.
Other agricultural products exported by air in June of this year were uncrushed or pulverized ginger with 393 tons (+ 330.5%), fresh blueberries with 111 tons (-49.6%), and fresh avocados with 105 tons (+ 226.4%), among others.
