Sweden: Lidl sees sales up double digits in full-year 2020/21
Lidl Sweden reported a 12.8% increase in sales in its most recent financial year, with general manager Johan Augustsson saying that the discounter's performance illustrates its position as a "strong challenger" in the Swedish grocery sector. In the year to 28 February 2021, Lidl Sweden reported net sales of SEK13.25bln (€1.3bln), compared to SEK11.75bln the previous year.

India: Same-day delivery service WeFast rebrands to Borzo and raises $35mln in Series C
WeFast, the leading crowdsourced same-day delivery service operating globally, announced that it has changed its name to Borzo to unite its businesses in 10 different countries under a single brand. 7-Eleven welcomes first customers in Cambodia
The first 7-Eleven store in Cambodia opened in capital city Phnom Penh on August 30. The store features 7-Eleven's unique style of convenience plus its signature food and drinks, as well as products and delicacies especially created to appeal to the local market. The Phnom Penh location is the first store to open through 7-Eleven's master franchise agreement with CP ALL Cambodia Co. Ltd., an indirect subsidiary of CP All Public Co. Ltd., which operates more than 12,000 7-Eleven stores in Thailand and is the largest 7-Eleven licensee.

A majority of Swedish customers will continue to shop online, study finds
Around 7 out of 10 online customers (68%) in Sweden believe that they will continue to use the channel to buy food even after coronavirus restrictions are eased, a new survey conducted by Demoskop on behalf of Coop Sweden has revealed. However, every 3rd person, or 33%, of those surveyed said they would reduce the extent of online shopping after restrictions ease. Online grocery shopping has seen record growth during the pandemic, with more than every 3rd Swede (39%) using the channel since the beginning of the pandemic.

Online grocery sales on the increase in Italy, study finds

US: NRF encouraged by White House appointment to address supply chain issues
