Workshop held at the Embassy and online on 8 September 2021

Brazil and Italy are moving closer together

The sun, fertile land, abundant water, modern irrigation techniques, investment in innovation and sustainable rural development are some of the factors that make Brazil the third largest producer of fruit in the world. In recent years, production has been gaining more and more space abroad, with European countries being the main destinations.

With the aim of promoting Brazilian fruit in Italy, on 8 September at 3pm, the Brazilian Embassy in Rome will hold an online seminar (webinar) entitled 'Fruit from Brazil: Health, Taste and Sustainability'. The event will focus on Brazilian fruit in the international market, on sustainability in fruit growing in Brazil and on product varieties.

This webinar is also linked to Brazil's participation in the Macfrut exhibition, which will take place in Rimini (and online), from 6 to 9 September 2021.

After the opening speech of the Brazil Ambassador to Italy Helio Ramos, there will be the President of Macfrut Renzo Piraccini, the Head of International Relations at the National Confederation of Agriculture of Brazil Lígia Dutra, the Agribusiness Manager at the Brazilian Agency for Exports and Investments - APEX-Brasil Márcio Rodrigues. Other speakers are the Export Director of the Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivatives Exporters - ABRAFRUTAS Jorge Souza, the President of the Mixed Agricultural Cooperative of Tomé-Açu - CAMTA Alberto Oppata, and the Executive Director of CitrusBR Ibiapaba Netto. The event will be moderated by the Head of the Agribusiness Office of the Brazilian Embassy Secretary Felipe Neves.
