Romanian Cooperative ends 2020 with a turnover increase

Agricultural cooperative Cooperativa agricola integrata Tara Mea ended 2020 with a turnover of RON153 million (EUR31 million), up 3.6% from 2019, per data from financial analysis platform Confidas.ro.

The agricultural cooperative registered its best financial result, of nearly RON200 million (EUR40 billion), in 2018.

Its representatives previously told Ziarul Financiar that the agricultural cooperative had split its activity into several companies, in 2019, separating distribution from production. In 2019, they said the total turnover amounted to RON214 million.

In 2020, the agricultural cooperative took over the activity of centralizing, storing and delivering vegetables from five agricultural cooperatives from the main vegetable fields in Romania, in the counties of Dambovita, Olt, Ilfov and Hunedoara, which produce an overall 15,000 tons of vegetables.

The profit registered in 2020, the most profitable year, stood at RON2 million, up 37% from 2019, per public data.

Cooperativa Tara Mea has an own 60-hectare farm in Ciolpani, near capital Bucharest, as well as two raw material processing plants and three warehouses. In early 2021, it opened an export department for Romanian processed products, which are exported to countries in Europe, the United States and the Persian Gulf.

Cooperativa agricola integrata Tara Mea, established in 2015, has been the largest agricultural cooperative in Romania since 2018, by turnover and the number of members.
