En-Ripe, a product of Heighten Innovative Solutions is a one stop solution for post-harvest artificial ripening. En-Ripe is an ethylene-based fruit ripening powder that aims at providing a healthier and safer alternative to harmful chemical based ripeners across fruits for all seasons. It is recognized by industry bodies and associations to be a safe, effective and nontoxic solution for fruit ripening. The product is a mixture of activated carbon, natural starches and several safe ingredients, which are then processed and dried to make a powder. Hence, the powder itself is edible and non-toxic. A scientific panel on fruits and vegetables of FSSAI has mentioned En-Ripe to be the most innovative product in this sector.
Shravan Kumar Reddy N, En-Ripe, said, “We aim at empowering farmers and the agriculture community in India. The ability to self-ripen gives more power to farmers, eliminating the need for middle-men and ultimately leading to greater return (for the farmer) and reduced prices (for the consumer). It is the ‘poor man’s ripening solution’ which can be used by all.”
The company has been growing year on year and has accounted for 6 crores of revenue in the last financial year and is projecting to grow to 12 to 15 crores in the current financial year, with a focus on improving fruit processing systems. A self-funded company, recently raised USD 1 Million half as equity and half as debt from HNIs and venture building company, Petrichor Investments. The company is also looking to expand to other countries like Thailand, Bangladesh to improve presence in other fruits, especially Banana apart from Mangoes.
Heighten Innovative is focused on sustainable innovation in the Agro-industry. After five years of extensive research, they formulated En-Ripe, to battle the excessive use of hazardous chemicals such as Calcium Carbide, Ethephon (recognized to be a pesticide), etc. that are cheaply available in the market and plan to revolutionize the sector by providing natural way for fruit ripening.
