Recent rainfall is a boon for Vermont blueberry season

William Pelkey, owner of Pelkey’s Blueberries in Charlotte, says that because his berries got a lot of rain, followed by the hot weather, they ripened really well. Then the rain swelled them up and they ‘came out perfect’.

It is peak blueberry season, and according to Pelkey, at least 1,000 people come to pick blueberries a week. This year the blueberries are exceptionally large.
