"We hope to help even more overseas brands promote their products on Chinese e-commerce platforms"

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has had an immense impact on the marketing and sales of fresh fruit in the last two years. Consumer habits have completely changed. Many customers who always shopped for fresh fruit and vegetables in person have now discovered the convenience of online shopping.

Jiazer (Guangdong) Agricultural Produce Processing Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as 'Jiazer Fresh'), is a company that links fresh produce resources across the globe. The business model of Jiazer Fresh places strong emphasis on e-commerce developments. Ms. Du Nanxia, spokesperson for the company, recently talked about the Jiazer Fresh business model.

"We have always been a company that links fresh produce resources across the globe. We establish fruit supply chains around the world and work hard to provide an integrated system with comprehensive services for every stage of the supply chain from production area to retail market. And every step along the way we value freshness and transparency," said Ms. Du. "Competition in the fruit industry grows stronger every day. Our main advantage over other fresh produce brands is our extensive network of connections in production areas and markets. For example, network technology evolves every single day and changes the ways in which consumers spend their leisure time. This in turn changes the entire market. We are taking advantage of the opportunities that this age of internet offers. We combine our products and the internet to give consumers a 'feeling' of this fresh, new concept."

Jiazer Fresh was quick to think about the changes required to shift from traditional retail to online sales. The company team organized live stream sessions on various e-commerce platforms such as JD, Tmall, and Pinduoduo, for the promotion of their products. They work closely together with fruit brands from Chile and South Africa to promote their products in the Chinese market. "For example, in 2021 we participated in the 'Super Cherry Day' that JD Fresh organized. More than 3 million cherry boxes were sold on that day in a three-hour window. This is an encouraging development for other large fruit brands," said Ms. Du. "We hope to cooperate with even more overseas suppliers and facilitate the promotion of their products in the Chinese market through our e-commerce services."

"I think that the impact of the internet of various industries will only grow stronger, but the one thing that will never change is the importance of product quality in the fruit industry. Take for example South American cherries, New Zealand apples or kiwi fruit, and South African oranges, and there are many premium domestic fruits as well, that can simply not be replaced. We will continue to provide marketing services for fruit that stands out in terms of brand potential and product quality," said Ms. Du.

"The only way to advance sales both in brick-and-mortar stores as well as online shops on e-commerce platforms is to renew the market through hybrid methodology that integrates big data, natural resources, innovative retail, and new media marketing. Only then can we link fresh, natural resources from across the globe and offer consumers a chance to sample the original flavor of fresh fruit products from around the world."

Jiazer Fresh will participate in the Shanghai International Fruit Expo between the 12th and 14th of August. Their company stand can be found in hall E5 at booth F3-2. When asked about the expectations for this expo, Ms. Du replied, "Shanghai is one of the most important ports for fruit import in China. Shanghai is responsible for about 25% of China's annual import volume of fruit. Importers, wholesale dealers, and retailers all converge on Shanghai. China canceled all major fruit expos in the last year to limit the spread of Covid-19. We are looking forward to in-depth information exchange and other discussions with colleagues in the fruit industry, to analyze future developments in the industry, and to light the spark that will set of a blaze of innovation through the integration of the internet and other modern resources."
