Digital trucking platform expands its offering to include the North German seaports

The container congestion in the seaports is tempting customers to resort to alternative transport options in addition to the often favored combined transport. Waiting a week longer for the next possible transport by rail is out of the question for most customers. The driveMybox platform is anything but a freight exchange. The Hamburg-based start-up offers a completely digital, free system solution on which clients and service providers can easily and securely handle transports.

The chaos in container shipping is paralyzing the seaports and the end is still not in sight. Especially the import containers, which are unloaded in a concentrated way, exhaust the limited capacities at the container terminals. From the seaport, the majority of the containers usually continue inland by rail. But the limited number of places in rail transport and the increased demand leads customers to resort to trucks at short notice.

Over longer distances, combined transport is the solution to keep the pre- and post-carriage on the road as short as possible. The truck is indispensable in the transport chain and as a combination it is suitable for flexible use in terms of time and space. The current situation is now having a particular impact on supply chains. Especially small and medium-sized forwarders, which are not yet digitally positioned, could incur unnecessary time expenses for the organization of a short-term transport.

driveMybox offers the all-in-one solution: There is no simpler way to get a container from A to B than with this online platform. The entire transport process, from price requests to scheduling to invoicing, is digitized; customers book online at fair prices. Live tracking, automatic payment processing, direct communication and digital documents are just some of the benefits. Thus, driveMybox provides more flexibility and transparency in container trucking - and that free of charge.

Co-founder Aaron Spandehra emphasizes: "The intuitive handling and the simple processing via the platform are particularly convincing. The nationwide truck capacities are a significant advantage for our customers, enabling them to access available service providers in real time. Especially from the ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam and Antwerp there is an increased demand."

"For our users, we create a lot of added value, which we develop based on a modern cloud platform, optimization methods and machine learning algorithms," co-founder Dr. Leonard Heilig explains. As CTO, he is responsible for the technical development of the platform, AI and cloud infrastructure.

With just a few clicks, any company can book a container transport by truck. The process is quick, easy and similar to booking a flight. Independent truckers and transport companies also benefit from an app-based, paperless, simple and fast process. Empty runs, unproductive waiting hours and lack of transparency are to be avoided in the future.
