Tour de France: 24,534 Bananas of Guadeloupe & Martinique for Restos du Cœur

The “KM 97” charity event organized on July 1st 2021, during stage 6 of the Tour de France (Tours-Châteauroux) in Ecueillé, has helped collect a total of 24,534 Bananas of Guadeloupe & Martinique for the Restos du Coeur charity:

17,700 bananas thanks to the cyclists (100 bananas offered instantaneously by each cyclist passing the KM 97 in Ecueillé),
6,514 bananas obtained via Instagram live (1 banana per view),
320 bananas collected thanks to the inhabitants of Ecueillé (each photo taken on the town hall square = 1 banana).

“I am very pleased with this result for the Restos du Coeur charity. I wholeheartedly thank Nelson Monfort as well, who got particularly involved in making it such a successful event,” explains Pierre Monteux, general director of UGPBAN.

“I want to thank the Union of Banana Producers of Guadeloupe & Martinique for having organized this charity event for the least fortunate,” adds Michel Flamé, president of Restos du Coeur in Indre-et-Loire.
