Last week (June 21-27), the overall market in each banana producing area was positive. Prices rose before stabilising; especially, prices rose notably for locally grown good-quality products. Currently, the supply volume from Laos and Myanmar has decreased, and the market is relatively stable, with no obvious fluctuations in prices.
Shipment volume from Yunnan is small, and Hainan is also in the latter half of its shipping season. Shipments from Guangdong are mainly from the western part of the province. As a whole, the supply of good-quality products, especially high-quality products is small. Therefore, good-quality products from Hainan took the lead in raising prices this week, which boosted the market. A large volume of seasonal fruits are currently on the market, so the banana consumer market has not responded enthusiastically, but the shipments can still be digested, and the overall market outlook is optimistic.
In terms of imported bananas, the market in Laos is generally positive, with prices stable but rising slightly. There is limited volume in the production areas, and traders are purchasing at a normal, steady pace. There have been no major fluctuations in prices, but the price of good-quality products rose slightly. The banana market in Myanmar's production areas remained stable as a whole. A small number of large plantations are making shipments, and the products are of good quality. Traders are purchasing steadily, and shipments are gradually decreasing. Prices fluctuate little; occasionally the price of good-quality products fluctuates by 0.1 yuan per half a kilo.
