Manvert silikon is one of the products with the highest concentration of assimilable silicon in solution on the market

Treatment with silicon increases the hardness and caliber of citrus fruits and reduces skin problems

Citrus skin disorders are a problem that raises great concern in the citrus sector. It is estimated that nowadays they account for 35% of the losses in citrus handling facilities, which entails a significant reduction in economic profit.

Creasing is one of the main citrus skin alterations; however, it is not the only one. There is also rind collapse, cracking, sun damage and skin aging problems. Moreover, many of these alterations develop in the post-harvest, which is an added problem.

In order to minimize these alterations, it is essential to apply a treatment that provides hardness and resistance to the fruit, slows down dehydration, delays the senescence of the peel and, therefore, also has a positive effect on the fruit's post-harvest shelf life.

The ideal treatment to minimize these problems is the one based on the biostimulant manvert silikon, usually combined with manvert CaB-tracker.

Manvert silikon is one of the products with the highest concentration of assimilable silicon in solution on the market. This biostimulant, still expanding after more than 10 years present in various parts of the world, has 30% w/w and 36% w/v of assimilable silicon in solution. In addition, manvert silikon is manufactured with Neovert tech's own technology, with which very small particle sizes are achieved. This allows for the higher concentration (between 15 and 50% more than other products), as well as greater coverage and better penetration of the product in the plant's various tissues.

For its part, manvert CaB-tracker is a liquid calcium and boron deficiency corrector formulated as a complex that simultaneously contains Ca and B in the same molecule. Also, it has an acid pH and a high solubility (which ensures better assimilation and higher efficiency).

By applying manvert silikon and manvert CaB-tracker on citrus plants, we obtain plants with more resistant tissues, greater resilience against solar radiation, more hydrated plants that suffer less water loss and a delay in the senescence of the fruit's skin. This results in a significant reduction of skin alteration problems, as well as larger-sized and more durable fruits.

The result is a higher yield, since losses are significantly reduced and fruit sizes increase, as found already by many growers and as demonstrated by the trials that the company has carried out over many years. A sample of this is shown in the following graphs:
