With a view to the increasing demand of Pakistani mangoes in the global markets, the mango export target has been enhanced up to 70, 000 tons this year. The mangoes are seeing big demand in the markets of Middle East, Europe and Australia. Therefore, exporters of the fruit are expecting big earnings this year. According to thenews.com.pk¸ All Pakistan Fruit & Vegetable Association has announced mango export target as 150,000 tons for the current mango season and the mango export is likely to bring $127.5 million to the country.
Pakistani mangoes hit Singapore markets
Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri expressed his happiness as the export of Pakistani mangoes to foreign countries continues to grow.
Taking to Twitter, Chaudhri shared a picture and wrote, “Glad to see Pakistani mangoes, we proudly call “king of fruits”, reach the Singaporean consumers”.
The most demanding fruit in the summer season is all set to capture the Australian market as the country has approved Pakistan’s mango treatment facilities. Mango exports are expected to go up seven percent over the last year despite that the industry is facing adverse climate change and water shortage issues coincided with COVID-related restrictions on flights.
