Seipasa, a Spanish company specialized in the development and formulation of bioinsecticides, bio fungicides and biostimulants, has received the 2020 National Innovation Award at an official event held at the Granada Conference Center.
The ceremony, which was presided over by King Felipe and Queen Letizia, included the participation of the Minister of Science and Innovation, Pedro Duque, the head of the body that grants this prestigious award each year, and the President of the Junta de Andalucia, Juanma Moreno.

The CEO of the company, Pedro Peleato, received the award that accredits Seipasa as the most innovative company in Spain in the small and medium-sized companies category. Peleato dedicated the award to the entire agricultural sector and highlighted its key role as a social engine in the toughest moments of the pandemic.

The CEO of Seipasa highlighted that the award acknowledged Seipasa's totally innovative and highly disruptive differential approach to agriculture. "We've been working for 23 years with our natural technology model that puts high value-added solutions in the hands of farmers through research and innovation with substances of botanical and microbiological origin."

King Felipe VI said Seipasa was a pioneering firm in the necessary change that the Spanish agricultural industry was experiencing. "Seipasa - he added - is an example of how effective solutions for crop protection can be combined with sustainability and business success."
Awarded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the jury for this prestigious award has recognized Seipasa's determined commitment to innovation in a traditional and heavily regulated sector, generating a business model based on natural technology to develop effective solutions for farming.
The jury's ruling also highlighted the company's effort to incorporate innovative business management models that have allowed it to optimize the return on its high and sustained investment in R + D + i.
