The Granada-based company Grupo La Caña, dedicated to the production and export of fruit and vegetable products, is opening up to new overseas markets, including the US, Canada, and Middle Eastern countries.
This company has more than 40 years of experience in the commercialization of fruits and vegetables produced in greenhouses and subtropical fruits, as well as other fifth-range products. Grupo La Caña signed its first international contract in 1979 and it currently has extensive export activity, mainly in the European market, with sales to Germany, England, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, among other countries. The company has managed to weave a network of customers in the food channel that allows them to transport the products comfortably throughout the community. However, Grupo La Caña also exports its products to other continents, such as America, Africa, and Asia.
They have received the support of Extenda, the Andalusian Agency for Foreign Promotion, since the 90s. "This has been a very important channel to approach many European and Eastern countries, as well as the markets we didn't reach," stated Jesus Garcia, CEO of the Motril-based company.
The company has received this collaboration and support via trade missions and promotion at the main international events in the sector, such as Fruit Logistica or Fruit Attraction.
The company's future plans are based on sustainability and its great challenge for the coming years focuses on achieving more sustainable agriculture, optimizing resources, and meeting consumer expectations. In this sense, they have opened an exclusive manufacturing center for organic products.
