On Friday night, near the town of Ginsheim-Gustavsburg, thieves have harvested 6 km of a field of asparagus in the southern part of the German state of Hesse. They got away with 300 kilograms of the vegetable.
Police officials have stated the as yet unknown perpetrators were quite professional. They not only dug up the asparagus in the correct way, but also closed the holes in the mounds where the vegetables grew.
According to perthnow.com.au¸ investigators estimated the damages at some €3,000.
