"In recent times, more and more customers are asking us to package vegetables, including fennel. Among the most requested items is the 2-piece tray, of about 650 grams. We have just begun harvesting fennel from our own production and that from our growers. We have more than 20 hectares," said Emile Fellini of Fellini Patrizio.
The harvest will continue throughout the month of June. In addition to packaged products, Fellini also offers them in bulk in the typical 30x40 boxes. "Prices are on the rise as we are moving from the greenest winter transplants in the south, to the fresh local product, which is much more tender and whiter.
Prices have been quite flat in recent weeks, but with the new production, things are moving. "We also have surfaces that meet the demands of the large-scale retail trade but, despite the agreements, the prices follow the market trend," pointed out Fellini.
The spring weather trend has caused a 15-day delay. "The quality is good, also because we only sell goods that meet the agreed standards. The weather has not been very helpful, especially in recent weeks. We hope a more regular trend will occur soon."
