New plant-based food items make it Whole Foods Market stores nationwide

Tattooed Chef, Inc., a plant-based food manufacturer, today announced it has launched two of its original vegetable products in Whole Foods Market stores nationwide.

Starting this week, 12oz bags of the following will be found at Whole Foods Market stores:

  • Organic Greens: An assortment of five different greens. Seasoned zucchini, broccoli, haricots verts, peas & leeks. (GLUTEN-FREE & VEGAN)
  • Zucchini Spirals: 100% Zucchini individually portioned in a spiral nest. (GLUTEN-FREE & VEGAN)

“Whole Foods has been a terrific partner since 2010 and we are excited to officially launch our branded products in their stores,” said Sarah Galletti, Founder and the “Tattooed Chef.” “Our Organic Greens5 and Zucchini Spirals are delicious, and we can’t wait for you to try them.”

These delicious vegetables are available in the frozen section at Whole Foods Markets nationwide. They require a one-step preparation and are ready to eat within 6-7 minutes. Each product starts at $3.99 per bag.

Foods of New Mexico acquisition completed as well
Tattooed Chef, Inc. also announced that on May 14, 2021, it completed the acquisition of New Mexico Food Distributors, Inc. and Karsten Tortilla Factory, LLC (collectively referred to as “Foods of New Mexico”) for approximately $37.0 million in cash, subject to a customary adjustment based on inventory at closing.

Foods of New Mexico produces ready-to-eat Mexican food items for both retail and food service. This acquisition diversifies Tattooed Chef’s manufacturing capabilities, expands production capacity, and accelerates the Company’s expansion outside frozen food and into ambient products. Foods of New Mexico’s facility in Albuquerque currently produces Mexican foods including quesadillas, burritos, and other handheld items, as well as sauces. The second facility in Karsten is brand new and will enable the Company to have extensive tortilla manufacturing capabilities as well as be able to customize the existing footprint.
