Uganda: Minister asks Busoga farmers to switch from sugarcane to avocadoes

The Ugandan Ministry of Agriculture has started initiatives to shift the focus of farmers in the Busoga region away from sugarcane growing. The aim is for them to focus on other crops with more stable prices.

According to the State minister for agriculture Aggrey Bagire, sugarcane farmers in Busoga region have suffered too much from unstable prices.
